"Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see the shadow. It's what sunflowers do."
It is amazing what happens to the garden when you are gone for a couple of weeks. We came back to a sunflower jungle. Thanks to our HBCG neighbor, who kept our garden watered...thank you Leslie! Some of the mammoth sunflowers are over 6' tall and a bunch of blooms were out. The shorty sunflowers are on the verge. The stalks are full of buds just waiting for the perfect moment to open.
Does anyone have a good recipe on how to harvest and roast sunflower seeds? We still have a bit of time, but I want to try to salvage my seeds from this crop and use them for replanting next year or for eating this year. Let me know if you come across any good information on this.
Happy healthy eating and continued good growing!
